Christian Science Society of Singapore: Mission
Our mission is to make the Christian Science healing and educational system available and accessible to everyone in Singapore and beyond. Christian Science enables us to understand our relationship to a loving God and our relationship to each other. This understanding improves our lives, our communities, and the world. The complete explanation of Christian Science, which is practiced by people of all faiths, is contained in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Sunday Services Our 10 am Sunday church service at the Hilton Hotel provides a peaceful atmosphere for prayer and for listening to the weekly Bible lesson. This lesson-sermon is composed of citations from the King James Version of the Bible and Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Science has no ordained clergy, and the service is led a reader each for the Bible and Science and Health. The service includes hymn singing, and a collection is taken. Directions...
Monthly Wednesday Testimony Meeting The Wednesday Testimony Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm at the Hilton Hotel on Orchard Road. Readings from the Bible and Science and Health are followed by discussion and sharing testimonies of the physical and non-physical healings that come from the study and practice of Christian Science. Sunday School Sunday School allows young people up to the age of twenty to learn of God's love for them and how the spiritual and moral teachings of the Bible and Science and Health can help them every day and in every situation they might find themselves. The Bible-based teaching concentrates on the 10 commandments, the Lord's Prayer with its Spiritual Interpretation by Mary Baker Eddy, the Sermon on the Mount, and the current Weekly Lesson Sermon. The original Singapore Christian Science Church was built in 1938 at 8 Orange Grove Road (near the Shangri-La Hotel). Services continued there until 1986. Christian Science first arrived in Singapore in 1934, when Services were held at the Adelphi Hotel (now the Adelphi Building) on Coleman Street.
